Cycling Routes

Our Aviator Hotel in Kamień Śląski is the perfect base for cycling trips, with plenty of attractions waiting for you nearby!

You can head to Góra Świętej Anny (St. Anne’s Mountain), home to a beautiful landscape park and a historic sanctuary, as well as numerous bike trails with scenic views. It’s an ideal spot for nature lovers, hikers, and those looking for active recreation.

The Góra Świętej Anny Landscape Park is one of the most stunning natural areas in the Opole region. It covers over 5,000 hectares around the Chełm massif, featuring the highest peak of the Silesian Upland – St. Anne’s Mountain itself (408 meters). The park includes six nature reserves, home to around 800 plant species, including 31 protected ones. Wildlife is rich here too — you may see deer, roe deer, badgers, foxes, and many bird species.

At the heart of St. Anne’s Mountain is the historic Sanctuary of St. Anne and a Franciscan monastery, surrounded by the Calvary, with over thirty chapels scattered across the nearby hills. Visitors are also drawn to the open-air amphitheater dating back to before World War II and the Monument of the Insurrectionary Deed, a work by the renowned sculptor Xawery Dunikowski.

Nearby is the Góra Świętej Anny Geological Reserve, which reminds visitors of the area’s volcanic origins. In the center, you can see a small volcanic cone, and an educational trail runs through the former quarry area, offering interesting insights into geological processes.

For adventure seekers, the Dolina Krowioka (Krowioka Valley) holds former WWII air raid shelters. Although entrances are now sealed, the site has a unique atmosphere and historical significance.

Another option is Kamionek, where you can enjoy a charming lake and the peacefulness of nature.

It’s also worth visiting Obrowiec, home to the medieval fortified settlement Tempelberg, surrounded by a moat and full of mysteries. This site recalls the Tatar military raids of 1241 and is steeped in legends about underground tunnels leading to nearby Templar castles.

Gogolin is another stop that fascinates with its history and limestone industry. For 120 years, the town was an important industrial center, and its heritage — like the restored Dombrovsky lime kilns — is beautifully illuminated at night. You should also see the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Evangelical Church, reflecting the cultural diversity of the region.

Don’t miss the monument to Karolinka and Karlik, heroes of a famous Silesian folk song who have become symbols of the town. Gogolin also boasts the Fruit City Garden (Owocowy Ogród Miejski) — a popular recreational space loved by locals, perfect for relaxing amidst greenery.

And of course, don’t forget Opole, a city admired for its architecture and rich cultural offerings — a great place to unwind!
